Denunciation — The Uyghur People

Tribunal Denunciation No. 2026-D-003
Issued Orthen, Ignis 22 • Anno Covenant II
(10 April 2026)

Finding

The mass internment, forced sterilization, cultural erasure, and coerced labor of Uyghur Muslims by the People's Republic of China has been documented exhaustively — by survivors who escaped, by journalists who risked their freedom, by leaked internal documents from the apparatus itself, and by independent investigators who have spent years assembling what the state tried to bury.

An estimated one to two million Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims have been detained in a network of internment facilities that the Chinese government calls "vocational education and training centers." Survivors describe forced political indoctrination, torture, sexual violence, and conditions designed to break the individual will.

The Record

Families have been separated — children placed in state institutions while parents are interned. Religious practice has been criminalized. Mosques have been demolished or converted. The Uyghur language is being systematically displaced from education.

Forced sterilization and coerced birth control have produced a sharp, documented decline in birth rates in Uyghur-majority regions — consistent with the legal definition of genocide under the UN Convention.

Uyghur forced labor has been documented in global supply chains — in cotton, electronics, and solar panel production. The products of this system are in homes and pockets around the world.

Multiple governments, independent tribunals, and human rights organizations have recognized these acts as genocide. The Uyghur Tribunal (London, 2021) found beyond reasonable doubt that the People's Republic of China has committed genocide against the Uyghur people.

What the Covenant Declares

The Soteria Covenant concurs with these findings.

We denounce the mass internment of a people for their faith, their language, and their identity.

We denounce the forced sterilization of women as an instrument of demographic engineering.

We denounce the destruction of mosques, the criminalization of prayer, and the erasure of a culture that has endured for centuries.

We denounce every corporation and government that has profited from forced labor and looked away.

And we say to the Uyghur people, wherever you are — in the camps, in exile, in silence: an entire people cannot be unmade. What they are trying to erase, you carry in your language, your memory, and your children. That is beyond their reach.
